[2023 Update] Casual Cosplay: 20 Subtle Anime Outfits You Can Wear Every Day!
Ever wanted to dress like your favorite anime character? You don’t have to look for a seamstress or tailor to get these characters’ looks. In fact, with these super subtle and casual cosplay outfits, you can channel your favorite character and see how long it takes before your friends notice! Wear them to the latest anime convention or hangout and channel these personalities without looking too much.

It’s not easy to find casual outfits of anime characters that don’t look very casual to begin with, but don’t be afraid to style your own way and experiment to see how your own clothes can make creative ensembles. These outfit inspirations can also serve as guides to help you see how certain accessories or clothing items can change a whole look. You can get on Shopee or Lazada and find alternatives to the clothing items here that are within your budget. There’s no hard and fast rule about finding clothes that look good, other than a good fit depending on your build.

It took us a while, but at last, here they all are!
Toycon 2015 Aftermath

First of all—a big, big thank you to everyone who visited us at Toycon 2015! It was a while since our last event (Ozine Fest last April, the post of which I haven’t finished editing the photos for yet ; A ; Shame on me) and we had lots of new designs ready to be served along with our present collection!
Before I get into the highlights from last weekend—you guys may have noticed a decline in content from me the past few weeks D: In particular, the lack of What’s New Wednesday posts. We’re constantly releasing new designs, true, but alas, I haven’t been able to compile them in a proper blog post for ourweekly newsletters.
What does this mean? It only means—time to get ready for a long series of new designs coming your way! I won’t burden your browsers with a long-ass post with too many pictures to load, so I’ll be chopping up the new designs into a series of bite-sized posts, like they were meant to be in the first place.
Now that all that’s out of the way, onto Toycon!

New setup!
We’re always looking out for the best way to display keybies. With new designs coming out every week, it’s more and more of a challenge doing our best to make sure all 700+ designs we usually bring to events are as conveniently browsed as possible by you awesome people.
Last Sunday, we got to test this newest innovation, thought up by none other than my mum:

Remarkable Racketeras Unite! I got featured on Cosmopolitan PH

Last month I wrote a post about looking back, and being in a magazine for the first time. I remember feeling incredibly proud to even be considered for a Meg magazine feature, no matter what size it was or how small I was all those years ago.
Now—I got to relive that joy all over again—being part of a feature in Cosmopolitan Philippines‘ June 2015 issue!
From office cubicles to sassy sidelines
The article features 4 ladies who take their careers outside the everyday office cubicle. I got to share about juggling between running an accessory business and working a corporate job, and even a bit about how I’d sell stuff in school for extra pocket money. Forever grateful to my mom for teaching me the joys of earning early, and the importance of managing my finances in the process. She was with me during the shoot too, because her advice on style is just as important to me as her advice on money. Heh.
Seriously though, my mom is a pillar of guidance for me, and having her there to support me meant a lot.
I still work full-time in a corporate setting while managing the Keybie Cafe, but the rest of my article companions—Zar Castro, Anna Terrenal, and Beam Mariano—focused more on freelancing and consultancy without a hitch. Even then, they took their creativity to different levels and multi-tasked like pros!
At the shoot, I even got to talk with fellow entrepreneur Beam Mariano (whose bubbly cheerfulness is infectious) of ArtWine fame. Her passion for crafting is amazing, and all it takes is one look at her adorable felt items to see why!
My mind is still blown, but it was an honor to be a part of this group of creative, business-minded women (though I’m pretty sure I’ve got tons to learn all the same!). I can actually say I’m in Cosmopolitan!

How to Care for Your Keybies

A lot of people ask me how to keep their keybies looking nice and pretty for as long as possible, so I thought I’d put together all the keybie care tips I share into one blog post to answer any future questions.
However, all new keybies now have their images sealed in differently, and will last much longer. They can also withstand any amount of sun, though they can’t get wet and you can’t bend it without it looking ugly.
Caring for your keybie (or keybies!) isn’t hard, as long as you follow a few simple rules and tips!

1) Keep your keybies dry
This is the most important rule of all! If you keep your keybie on your bag and it’s raining outside, detach and tuck your keybie away before you go braving the rain. Though keybies are a bit water-resistant, they are not waterproof—the difference is that while a keybie can survive a few drops of liquid, they will look like they’re melting when they’re submerged or wet for several seconds!
If you do get your keybie wet, do not use tissue to wipe it dry! If you have no choice, keep the tissue away from the sides, or else bits of tissue will stick and it will not look pretty.
The best thing to do is to hang your keybie where it can dry without making a mess, then clean off any stains on the design with a damp (but not wet!) cloth.
2) Blacken worn-down sides with permanent marker
My oldest customers will remember a time when keybies used to wear down the edges and get all their black coloring rubbed off because of constant friction. Keybies now don’t do that, but if you have a keybie that’s looking less dark around the edges than usual, take out a permanent marker!
Alternatively, you can use black nail polish or black styrofoam paint (found in National Bookstore!) to repair any damaged sides and restore an old keybie to (almost) new.
3) Keep out of reach of pets and babies
Keybies aren’t toxic, but that doesn’t mean they have any business being between any set of teeth. I’ve had experiences of my own where our family dogs decide they want to do more than give moral support while I’m working—and start chewing on a keybie while staring right at me.
No amount of belly rubs and puppy eyes could repair the damage. Keybies are made from scrap paper materials, so any indentations into its surface are unfortunately there to stay.
4) Do not bend your keybies
Don’t try bending the keybie all the way. It won’t tear or break, but it will leave bend marks under the plastic, and unfortunately–there’s no fixing this kind of damage :(

Ozine Fest 2015 Aftermath Report!

At long, final last, Micah here with the aftermath coverage of Ozine Fest last April 24-26!
For those of you who may not know, I was still in Japan during the 24th and 25th. My trip was why we were iffy about attending the event, but my mum and brother were able to successfully man our booth without me on both those days. I just caught up on the 26th.
I was a little sick, but there’s nothing like the satisfaction of a day well-spent delivering keybie happiness ;)

Keybie Lookalikes
Getting to see so many wonderful cosplayers is always something to look forward to when we attend events, and Ozine Fest didn’t disappoint. Not only did I see lots of quality cosplays—I got to see more than a few of characters I didn’t expect to see at all!
There was also one particular ‘cosplay’ I had to say amused me to no end:
It was… Magic-al.
And special shoutout to this Araki Shinji cosplayer! That pose and accuracy was enough to make me stop on the way back from the bathroom to take a quick snap.
