With February being the month that celebrates both Valentine’s and National Arts Month, we’re featuring the whole Keybie Team’s favorite artists, or, to put it more appropriately, artists we love!
Whether we crush on their skills, their work, their attitude towards their passion, or all of the above, these artists are just too awesome not to share. Because hey, we (and any artist, really) know that even a little appreciation goes a long way.

Even without being aware of this artist’s impressive background, it’s hard not to be mesmerized by her command of color, design, and the sheer amount of imagination that must’ve gone into her concepts. Every page of her webcomic, Ava’s Demon, is a fully colored scene that takes you through an addicting story with beautifully designed characters–and at the risk of spoiling the story, I won’t say anything more.
Each chapter even boasts of an animated finale, showing off skills that make me tingle with feels of admiration and envy–and it’s pretty inspirational when you realize it was a story she wrote when she was young and depressed. When you can take a burden and turn it into something beautiful, I can’t imagine how anyone wouldn’t be inspired.
As someone who uses Photoshop too, being able to see her process pics and finished work tells me that no, she doesn’t use magic to paint such vibrant pieces, and that yes, I just need to keep exploring colors, study, and practice to one day paint with as much life.
As well as an advanced Kung Hei Fat Choi too! It’s a lot of celebrations, and while we celebrate at the Cafe–we’re also celebrating all these new designs with #What’sNewWednesday!
We’ve got new anime and gaming–AND kpop, jpop and pop–keybies to tickle your fancies, too!
And we’ve got so much to catch up on. Personal business here, lots of running about there, and before we knew it–January was over! We never stopped being busy at the Cafe, but alas, updating took a backseat last month. Still, with a mug of coffee in one hand and the other covering my mouth while I yawn (just a bit), we’re back to serving you up new keybies for #What’sNewWednesday! And on time, too!!

Held in Megatrade Hall 2-3 last January 24 and 25, Otaku Expo 2015 was our first con of the year, and man was it a doozy. The crowds were much, much less congested than last year, though that didn’t stop us from being busy.
The keybie spill below, for example, is a usual sight at ingress–no, we didn’t have an ‘accident’. I’m just arranging all 600+ designs.
Where did we put all these, you might ask?
This year, we had keybies on the walls instead of on our usual stands or table frames, which meant the debut of–the great wall of Keybie! Times two!!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture of these majestically large walls in their totality, but rest assured–this won’t be the last you see of the Keybie walls.
If you call yourself a fan of RPG Maker Horror games, then you have to know kouri‘s Ib. If you don’t, you shouldn’t miss out!
Now, if you’re a figure collector too, you shouldn’t miss out on this Ib figure set by Colorfull Collection (not a typo!).
There’s Ib, Garry and Mary of course–and there’s also the Blue Doll, the Lady In Red, and even Abyss of the Deep (named Deep Sea Abyss here).

First of all, it’s officially January 1, 2015 as I finish this post, and boy has 2014 been something–and it wouldn’t have been the same without the support from you guys. Just to recap a few of this year’s blessings:
It wasn’t perfect, especially after our family of four became a family of three shortly after my mom’s birthday, but God gave us means to cope all the same in being busy, being together, and being among caring friends.
Joey the chihuahua, the newest member of the family, is a furry little blessing in his own right..
With this Wednesday being last day of 2014, we’ve been able to process a few more designs to wrap it all up amidst the holidays! More —
